Hello All,
I'm jumping in to say Hi and let you in on why I created Ladies on the Land Australia.
The dream is to create a thriving network across Australia where ladies in agriculture and ladies who live in rural, regional and remote areas can gather, share experiences, gain knowledge and support one another through the unique challenges and triumphs of living where we do with laughs, learning and lunch.
We’ve faced disasters, droughts, floods, bushfires and plagues in the last couple of years and I want to ensure we’ve ongoing connections, access to adaptive tools and a strong community we can rely on. With local Ladies on the Land Australia (LOLA) groups, we create opportunities, giving ladies who live and work in rural, regional and remote areas the chance to lunch, learn and laugh together, locally and across Australia.
The past few years have been incredibly tough and I found myself struggling. What I'd forgotten is that life isn’t about waiting for the drought/flood /plague/fire/disaster/event to pass, it’s about learning to dance (take new steps or adapt) in the dust/mud/eaten crops/ashes/new normal.
I don't want anyone to go through the tough times alone. So please, jump in, join in, invite your friends and envision what a local group might look like in your district. Check out the fb page here.
For laughs, learning and lunch!
Take care,
Kalen
Ladies on the Land Australia is a vibrant and dedicated group of women passionate about fostering connections.
Our Mission
To create a thriving network across Australia where ladies in agriculture and ladies who live in rural, regional and remote areas can gather, share experiences, gain knowledge and support one another through the unique challenges and triumphs of living where we do with laughs, learning and lunch.
We connect to gather and gather to connect empowering each other in agriculture and life.
This is how Ladies on the Land Australia started, with a note on the back of a docket, whilst sitting on the roadside after a drought Cuppa n Connect sorting out receipts.
Empowering rural, regional and remote women through laughs, learning and lunch.
The acronym of LOLA came later when I was talking with a man about the project and he said how he wanted to support Lola. With a puzzled look I asked if Lola would like to join in and he burst out laughing saying ‘you’ve got an acronym for everything Kalen, you can have a whole conversation in acronyms, I thought Ladies on the Land Australia had one for sure!’
Welcome LOLA.
